- Jim Merrick had no clue he would be surprised by the people he spends most of his time with twice a week at St. Joseph Catholic School. The students and staff at the school proclaimed Monday "Jim Merrick Day" and showered him with gifts for being a devoted volunteer for the past seven years.

- Diana Taliercio is a first grade teacher at St. Joseph's Catholic school in Winter Haven. But on most days she is more than a teacher. Some days she's a magician who has work her magic to get her students to love learning. On the day we visited Mrs.Taliercio's classroom, she was using magic ropes to teach students the long "o" sound.
